If you are trying to meet women at bars, clubs, and parties, your target will most likely be with a group of friends. Approaching a group to meet someone might seem daunting, but it's actually easier to pick up women in groups. A woman's guard will automatically be down in the comfort zone of her group.
First, you must gain the trust of the leader of the group. If the leader of the group decides that they aren't going to stay and talk to you, your efforts will be shut down quickly.
It is easy to determine who the leader of the group is, because it's usually the same two kinds of people:
Loud or outgoing women
A guy (or guys)
Target the leader right away.
If the group you are approaching consists of the girl you want to approach and another woman, you should approach the other woman first.
However, if the group you're approaching consists of the girl you want to meet and two or more women, target the loudest or most talkative woman of the group. She will most likely be the leader.
If the group consists of women and a man or men, target one of the men. Any man will do. Men are "automatic" leaders in group situations.
If the girl you want to meet happens to be the leader of the group, don't talk to her right away.
Try talking to one of her friends first, and let the leader engage you, which she most certainly will. Once she's engaged you, you can turn your attention toward her.
Once you've gained the leader's acceptance, try to engage the other members of the group. For instance, you could make the whole group laugh by telling a funny joke. Once the group accepts you, turn your attention to your original target.
It is important that you get to your original target last. By approaching your target this way, not only do you give the impression that you're not "overly" interested in her, but she will be forced to accept you once you have gained the approval of her peer group.
Therefore, if you try to pick up women in groups, you might find that you can have more success than you thought you could. Give it a shot. Just be confident and have fun.
